If, like me, you're familiar with WordPress, then it's pretty annoying to have the WordPress on-boarding panels and "Welcome" modals pop up all the time. There's one when you first log in to a new site:
There's one when you first edit a post:
And there's a pattern selector that appears when you go to edit a page.
Get out of my way, WordPress! I know what I'm doing. Let me get on with my work without these annoying interruptions!
The "Auto-remove block editor welcome screen" has a clumsy name, but does what it says: with this option enabled you will never see these panels and modals again. They shall be automatically dismissed, closed, vanished so that you can get on with your work.
Honestly, if you log on to a lot of sites or are frequently creating new sites then turn this on for a while and you will soon find those things incredibly jarring when you do see them.
